The Illinois Emergency Management Agency assures there’s nothing to worry about after Monday’s incident at the Byron Nuclear Plant.
You may remember on Monday the plant temporarily lost power causing a steam release. The agency says there are no measurable increases of radiation anywhere near the plant.
They tested water and vegetation near the plant in a Springfield lab. Scientists compared the tritium levels of those samples with others taken in different locations.
Levels came back mostly normal.
