Moog Inc. has purchased another California manufacturing company, marking its second West Coast acquisition in less than two weeks.
Company officials announced June 3 that Moog is acquiring Crossbow Technology Inc. in Milpitas, Calif., for approximately $32 million. It purchased Animatics Corp. on May 24, paying $25 million in Moog Class A shares and $5 million in cash.
Crossbow, founded in 1995, designs and manufactures acceleration sensors used in navigation and guidance systems. It supplies the parts for the aerospace, defense and transportation industries. According to its website, it sold off its commercial inertial systems and wireless sensor network product lines last year to MEMSIC, Inc. for approximately $18 million in cash.
