Live Oak —
David Still’s last day as executive director of the Suwannee River Water Management District is May 1, he told the Democrat Tuesday.

At a meeting Tuesday of the SRWMD Governing Board, it was learned that Still had spoken with individual board members recently about his intentions to resign, board member Dr. George Cole said.

At the meeting, the board discussed the matter and ultimately voted 5-2 not to ask Still to stay on as executive director.

When asked by the Democrat if he would be giving a reason for his departure, Still simply stated “no I’m not.”

Still said he has no plans as of yet following his executive director post.

Still was appointed to the post of executive director in February 2008.
