CORINTH, Miss. — A planned floodway canal clearing project has been completed in Corinth by the Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District.
The work on Bridge Creek is one of the priority drainage projects identified by the Bridge-Phillips-Elam Concurrent Drainage Districts in the aftermath of the May 2010 flood.
Along with work at Bridge Creek near the Kansas City Southern rail bridge, Corinth Street Department workers have been mulching along Phillips Creek and clearing debris along Elam Creek near the Kansas City Southern rail trestle.
The clearing work done by TRVWMD is designed to be environmentally friendly, with no digging, dredging or modification of the canal.
